A Hotel Garzon Plaza dates back to 1915, when construction of the Győr Hunting Lodge began. Initially used as a military barracks, the building has served a variety of functions throughout history, including as a base for Soviet troops.

Over the years, the building deteriorated, but at the beginning of the 21st century, we started to renovate it, preserving its historic character while transforming it into a modern restaurant. In 1915, the construction of the Hunting Barracks in Győr was initiated by the V Corps Headquarters of the Empire and Kingdom.

The original plans for the complex included eight pavilions and various service buildings. The barracks was quickly completed and over the years has served as home to several armies and formations. In the second half of the 20th century, the complex was used by Soviet troops. After the withdrawal of the Soviets, the barracks stood abandoned for a long time until its renovation was initiated by the municipality.
