Exhibition by the Földváry Castle Creative Camp at Garzonpláza
Contemporary works created in the inspiring surroundings of Földváry Castle

15 October – 15 November.
A snapshot of a week’s creative work
Between 8 and 15 October, the Földváry Castle: A creative camp is being organised under the guidance of painter Diána Verebélyi, where invited contemporary artists will work together in the castle’s inspiring, historic surroundings.
The works created here will be on display between 15 October and 15 November at the Hotel Garzonpláza Art & Business Hotel are exhibited in the contemporary art scene.
What makes this exhibition special is that visitors are not presented with a traditional, static collection of artworks, but rather the result of a fresh, collaborative creative process: works that emerged directly from the days spent at Földváry Castle, from the experiences, conversations, inspirations and artistic encounters there.
Földváry Castle as an inspiring creative space
Földváry Castle is not just a venue, but an atmosphere.
The castle’s historic setting, architectural character, interior spaces, gardens and unique atmosphere create an inspiring environment that can have a special influence on artists’ thinking and creative processes.
The aim of the creative camp is to enable the participating artists to step away from their usual creative environment for a few days and take part in a focused, collaborative yet personal artistic process.
The time spent at the castle offers the opportunity to:
- to create new works,
- collective thinking,
- professional dialogue,
- to get to know each other’s work,
- to draw on the inspiration derived from the spirit of the place,
••the creation of a new, collaborative exhibition.
Under the artistic direction of Diána Verebélyi
The creative camp Diána Verebélyi, painter is led by someone who supports the camp’s artistic work through their own creative vision, professional sensitivity and contemporary artistic perspective.
Form, structure, colour, internal rhythm and conceptual composition play an important role in Diána Verebélyi’s art. Her creative approach is both disciplined and free: her paintings do not merely function as visual spectacles, but open up inner worlds, emotions and structures of thought to the viewer.
As artistic director of the creative camp, my aim is not to establish a uniform style, but to ensure that every participating artist can connect with the castle’s inspiring atmosphere through their own artistic language and creative character.
The camp is therefore not merely a collaborative endeavour, but a genuine artistic dialogue: a meeting of different perspectives, techniques, ideas and creative energies.
From the castle to the hotel – the journey of the artworks
The works created at Földváry Castle will be moved to a new setting from 15 October: the Hotel Garzonpláza Art & Business Hotel the contemporary art scene.
This journey holds special significance. The artworks are first created within a rich, historical setting, before being presented to the public in a vibrant, bustling, modern hotel environment.
With 71 rooms, the Garzonpláza is a four-star hotel and one of Győr’s leading hotels. Situated right next to Győr Pláza, the county hospital and McDonald’s, at the junction of four districts, it welcomes a diverse range of guests every day.
The exhibition is therefore not presented in a closed gallery space, but in a constantly active, open environment with a high volume of footfall.
The premiere of new contemporary works
One of the exhibition’s greatest strengths is that visitors can view works that were created directly at the artists’ retreat.
This lends the exhibition a special sense of freshness. The works are not only individual pieces, but also reflections of a shared week of art. They embody:
- the atmosphere of Földváry Castle,
- the collective energy of the creative camp,
- the artists’ personal reactions,
- the ideas and inspiration that arose there,
- the ethos of Diána Verebélyi’s artistic leadership,
- the immediacy of the contemporary creative process.
Visitors can thus see not only finished works, but also the result of a creative process.
A contemporary exhibition open 24 hours a day
The Hotel Garzonpláza Art & Business Hotel exhibition space is open 24 hours a day.
The exhibition can be viewed every day between 15 October and 15 November, free of charge, in the hotel’s communal areas.
This openness creates a unique opportunity for contemporary art to reach as wide an audience as possible: hotel guests, business travellers, local enthusiasts, art collectors and anyone who would like to gain a deeper insight into the world of contemporary painting.
Online bidding, supported by Földváry Auction House
The works on display can be viewed not only in the hotel, but also at the On the Földváry Auction House’s online platform also appear.
